We're a group of dedicated and loyal BC New Democrats who are convinced that our party can do better. Despite a double-digit lead over the government in the pols, the BCNDP seems stuck in neutral under the current leadership. At a crucial time in our province – with a drifting, arrogant government trying to force an unfair tax on BC – we have to be presenting a credible, progressive alternative to Gordon Campbell. Our committee believes Guy Gentner is the man for the job.
Let us be very clear: Guy has not endorsed this effort – and we won't ask him to. What we are doing is putting out a call: a call that lets BC New Democrats know there is a movement for change within the party, and a call that lets Guy know his moment has arrived.
You might be wondering who we are – but unfortunately you'll have to wait to find out. The unilateral expulsion of Bob Simpson from BCNDP caucus last week shows that the BCNDP under current leadership is not a safe place for democratic dissent.
But it's not us that matter. It's the province, the Party, and Guy.
